How to live a more sustainable life
Living more sustainably means reducing waste (especially plastic) reducing our carbon footprint and choosing products that are environmentally and socially responsible. Of course none of us are perfect, and we can't do everything, but every small change can help lessen you environmental impact.
Here are a few easy tips to help you live a more sustainable lifestyle;
1. Save energy
Saving energy at home can help reduce carbon emissions. Turn off standby appliances, turn heating down and dry clothes outside instead of in a dryer.
2. Eat less meat
The production of meat is one of the biggest contributors to climate change. By eating less meat you can help to reduce the impact on the planet.
3. Buy sustainable clothing
The fashion industry is one of the main polluting industries in the world! To lessen the impact this industry has on the planet you could buy second hand clothes or buy from a sustainable source.
4. Save water
Try installing a water butt and make use of grey water for the garden, avoiding wasting drinking water.
5. Reuse, Refill, Recycle
Wherever possible try to reuse and refill bottles to avoid excess waste. If you do need to recycle make sure you are putting it in the right recycling bin.
6. Use eco-friendly cleaning products
Many household cleaning products contain chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. By using natural, biodegradable cleaning products like MadeKind you can help prevent these chemicals having a negative impact on the earth.
